Submission rules
Last updated 1 Jul 2026
General eligibility
Entries must be submitted by a person or company holding the rights to do so. By submitting you confirm all music, archive and contributor clearances are in place or will be before any public screening.
Non-English dialogue must carry English subtitles. Entries without them are moved to Action Required rather than rejected, and you will be given a deadline to supply a file.
Screeners
Provide a secure streaming link valid through the selection period stated when entries open. Password-protected links are accepted; include the password with the entry. Downloads are not required at entry stage.
Screener links are handled as restricted media. Access is limited to programming staff and jurors, and viewing is logged.
Fees
Submission fees are non-refundable once an entry has been received, including where an entry is later found ineligible. Ekiti Spotlight is free to enter.
Selection
Selection decisions are final. Entries progress through Submitted, In Review, Shortlisted and then Selected or Not Selected, and the current state is always visible in My EIFF. Where programming needs something from you, the entry moves to Action Required with a specific note.
Selected films
Selected films must supply an exhibition-quality file or DCP by the date given in the selection notice, along with stills, a director portrait and any press materials. Selected filmmakers receive a Filmmaker accreditation.
Categories
Submissions are not open. Deadlines and entry fees are published together with the opening of entries, so nothing here should be planned around yet.
