About EIFF

An international film festival and screen-industry platform hosted in Ekiti, Nigeria.

The Ekiti International Film Festival (EIFF) brings together films, filmmakers, audiences, industry professionals, creative entrepreneurs, institutions and global partners from Nigeria, across Africa and around the world.

Hosted in Ekiti and built for global cinema, EIFF connects storytelling with audiences, industry, markets, creative enterprise, tourism and investment opportunity.

Our mission

Cinema is the gateway

EIFF exists to create an internationally credible platform where compelling screen stories are presented, filmmakers connect with audiences and industry, and cinema becomes a gateway to culture, enterprise, tourism and opportunity.

Through the Film Festival, EIFF Industry & Film Market, Ekiti Creative Summit, Experience Ekiti and the Ekiti Tourism & Investment Forum, EIFF creates connections that extend beyond screenings into professional growth, commercial opportunity and long-term impact.

Purpose and vision

Connecting stories, people and opportunity

Our purpose

Connecting Stories, People and Opportunity.

To use cinema as a meeting point for stories, people, cultures, industries and markets — creating lasting value for filmmakers, audiences, creative professionals, visitors and the wider screen ecosystem.

Our vision

Hosted in Ekiti. Built for Global Cinema.

To establish EIFF as one of Africa’s most respected international film and screen-industry institutions — a global platform where compelling stories reach audiences, filmmakers connect with markets and capital, creative talent gains visibility and opportunity, industry relationships are built, and cinema generates lasting cultural and economic value.

Our promise

Cinema. Culture. People. Legacy.

EIFF is committed to building an institution where artistic excellence, professional opportunity, cultural connection and long-term impact reinforce one another.

Leadership

Who leads EIFF

Adeola Adesola-Olafikun, Founder and Festival Director of the Ekiti International Film Festival.

Adeola Adesola-Olafikun

Founder & Festival Director

Adeola Adesola-Olafikun is a filmmaker, producer, director, writer and creative entrepreneur whose work spans cinema, enterprise, community development and creative institution-building.

As Founder & Festival Director of the Ekiti International Film Festival and Founder of Lydia-Becca Films, her experience across filmmaking and entrepreneurship informs EIFF’s vision of cinema as both an artistic medium and a powerful platform for industry, connection and opportunity.

Through EIFF, Adeola is building an international film and screen-industry institution hosted in Ekiti and designed to connect filmmakers, audiences, markets, creative enterprise, tourism and investment across borders.

Founder’s vision

“EIFF is built on the belief that cinema can do more than entertain. It can connect stories with audiences, filmmakers with opportunity, places with people, and creative ideas with the markets and relationships that help them grow. Ekiti hosts the Festival, but EIFF is built for the world.”
Adeola Adesola-Olafikun, Founder & Festival Director

Institutional independence

Independent in vision. Collaborative in impact.

The Ekiti International Film Festival is an independently led international film and screen-industry institution.

EIFF works with public institutions, private-sector organisations, cultural bodies, industry partners and communities where shared objectives create meaningful opportunities for cinema, creativity, tourism and enterprise.

Every partnership is built on clear roles, shared value and respect for EIFF’s independent identity, programming integrity and long-term vision.

Long-term vision

Building beyond the Festival

EIFF’s ambition extends beyond an annual Festival.

Over time, the institution aims to contribute to stronger film exhibition, creative infrastructure, professional development and year-round screen culture in Ekiti — creating spaces where audiences can experience cinema and where filmmakers, students and creative professionals can learn, work and connect.

Future infrastructure initiatives will be developed through appropriate feasibility, partnerships and sustainable investment models.
